Not the typical way to get on stage at a Bon Jovi concert
I met a woman on a parenting/pregnancy site when we were both pregnant in 1999, due in 2000. She lived in Ohio, I in Indiana. We chatted on and off the board for years. Our families met at Great America in Ohio finally one summer.
The following summer she told me how she could get us tickets to see Bon Jovi during their Bounce tour in Ohio near where she lives.
She is originally from New Jersey and her family and friends are still there. One of her best friends, a cop in Jersey, has a brother that, at the time, set up the drums for the band and all she needed to do was ask him for tickets. I said yes.
My brother and I drove to Ohio in the beginnings of a blizzard. The next night we went to the will call window and there was nothing for us. She had the guy’s cell phone and called him. He came out and gave us floor seat tickets, back stage passes and wrists bands to go on stage.
This was the first time for me ever seeing Bon Jovi, though I had been a fan since I was 10. I was so excited. On stage I got to touch Jon's hand. I'm sure so many people have gotten to do that since they do this at every concert. But how many can say they got to because of meeting a friend online who was best friends of the brother that toured with the band?
Unfortunately the backstage passes did us no good. We were told they left immediately. My brother and I had to stay an extra day at my friend’s house due to the blizzard. I imagine the band wanted to leave ASAP to miss it.
