Had tacos with Letterman
About 10 years ago, I was standing in line at the Taco Bell at the St. Louis, Mo., airport during a layover. It must've been 10 p.m. My girlfriend and I were chatting when I noticed the man standing in front of us in line. He was wearing a baseball cap. My girlfriend giggled about something I had said and the man turned around. It was David Letterman. So I said, "You're David Letterman!" He chuckled. He ordered his tacos. We ordered ours. He sat a few tables from us. I remember he winked at Denise (my girlfriend) in a friendly way. But that was the night we ate tacos with David Letterman.
