Met Dennis Leary at a funeral
After the tragedy of Sept. 11, I traveled with some other firefighters from Illinois to New York, so we could honor some of the heroes at their funerals. We had hoped to run across a celebrity or two while we were in New York City, but did not expect to at a funeral. We had just stepped out of our cab and stepping out of the cab in front of us was Mr. Leary. I approached him and introduced myself. I explained that we were there also for the firefighters funeral. Mr. Leary shook hands with us and suggested we all stand with him for a photograph. He was very gracious and thanked us for traveling to NYC for the funeral services.
