Meet & Greet with Clay
About seven years ago, Clay Walker held a show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas. While my boyfriend (at the time), my 7-year old son and I waited for the entry gates to open, I filled out three entry forms (one in each of our names) to win a Meet & Greet with Clay before the concert began. My skeptical son repeatedly chanted, "You'll never win, Mom" until I scolded him with "Jonathan, you just never know." And, sure enough, he was wrong. My boyfriend's name was the last of the winners to be called! We had made a poster (touting "1 2 We Love You!” bastardizing one of Clay's big hits) that Clay signed for us, and then had our picture taken with him. When the boyfriend and I split, he got custody of the poster and I kept the picture, although I did cut him out of it. To this day that picture hangs amidst all of my other cherished photos.
