Alan Alda
Talked to him
He was doing publicity work, in conjunction with the (then) Boston Football Patriots, for his movie, "The Paper Lion." I asked if he was George Plimton and he said no I am Alan Alda, I played in the film. We chatted about his amazement about how athletic those football players were. He cited the fact that Alex Karas, at 280 lbs., could consistently beat him in a 40-yard dash, and he trained for the movie. He also told of other incidents that left him in awe of those players athletic ability. Then he gave me his autograph "to a fellow athlete" Alan Alda.
