I told Hilary Duff to MOVE!
I had a summer job at a local restaurant here in Maine. I was excited because it's money! My first day I was sort of nervous; there was a huge party coming in for a wedding so I had to guard a table in the back. I was sort of mad because I was hoping to do something a little bit more fun instead of standing in the back telling everyone who came my way they needed to pick another table.
Just then the restaurant phone rang and no one was picking it up. I ran over really fast and answered; it was my mom asking how my first day was going. I couldn't let her go because she wouldn't stop talking. Finally when we hung up I ran back to the table I had to guard when I saw a young, blonde haired girl sitting in a chair with her back to me. I rolled my eyes and walked over and tapped her on the shoulder and whispered in her ear that she needed to move because this table was saved for someone important. When she looked at me she look as if she was shocked, but she was very nice about it and got up and sat at the little bar by the cash register. I took a double take thinking to myself she looks a lot like Hilary Duff. I didn't think it was true though because it was Maine, no one comes here but I was sort of a fan so I went over and asked her who she was because she looked very familiar. She said Hilary Duff and shook my hand and was very kind. I was pretty happy about meeting her but played it cool by going back to the table I was supposed to guard.
After the wedding party my boss called me into his office (Hilary had left after only having a small milkshake which she took with her) and asked what I had done. I was confused because I did everything I was supposed to that day, guarding a damn table. He said that I told Hilary Duff to move. I guess my boss saw her sitting at the register and she told him she was sorry about sitting where a table was reserved. She ended up going on and telling him that she was Hilary Duff. My boss was furious (he was young and very immature). He told me because of my rude behavior I was fired. So basically I was fired from my first job because of Hilary Duff. Not only does it look bad on my resume getting fired after one day, but also I felt stupid after it all. I sort of wonder if she still remembers me.
