Ginger Rogers

Iwaited in line at the University bookstore for hours just to catch a glimpse of Ginger Rogers.. This was 1997, I believe just before she died... When I met her she was still gorgeous, but she had a cold and she sat with a hankie in her hand.. I wanted to say something so intelligent to her that she would never forget me, but all could say was I love your movies...!!! I wanted to ask her about working with Fred Astaire and other leading men but I froze. She thanked me, signed my book and went on to the next person in line... I forgot my camera, so I couldn't get a picture of this occasion. 8 years later I moved and the moving company lost 2 of my boxes and of course one contained my autographed book by Ginger Rogers. I was so bummed.. But I will never forget meeting her- she was beautiful and charming even though she did not feel well.. I miss her and her wonderfully entertaining movies.
