Met Festus from "Gunsmoke" at a gas station in Montgomery, Ala.
I stopped to get gas in Montgomery and met Festus who was staying at a motel next door. He had come to the Gas station to get a soda pop. He was real friendly and did not talk anything like the character he played, although he did cut up and talk like that for me and my family.
