A surprise dinner with Garth
My wife and I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Indianapolis a few years ago on a trip, and we saw Garth Brooks there eating dinner. Trying to be low key, we quickly and quietly walked over to his table and told him we were fans and enjoyed his work. he invited us to sit with him and have dinner, so we did. We enjoyed talking with him, trying to keep the conversation about anything but music, so that he didn't have to answer the same 20 questions he's been asked for the last 15 years. We had a couple of drinks, he paid for our dinner, signed a couple of autographs and we all left. He was really generous and down to earth and did actually remark that it was nice to spend some time talking about something other than 'the music and the business.'
