An Honorable President
When I was stationed at the Oregon Air National Guard base, President Reagan came to Portland, Oregon. He flew in on Air Force One and landed on the Military side of the Airport. We were all dressed in our best blues and stood at attention. As he walked past us, we saluted him and he saluted back. I don't know if it was because I was the shortest or at the end of the line, but when he came to me & I saluted, he paused in front of me, saluted, then winked. I was so excited & nervous seeing the President come down the line, my knees shook and I felt I was about to faint. As he left the base in his limo, all I could do was smile & feel so proud to be an American. Since then, Ronald Reagan has been my favorite President of all time.
