Tom came to our hometown in Oregon for a movie premiere & we ended up holding hands!
Tom produced a movie about a local hero, Steve Prefontaine, who was a runner that Tom could relate to. My son was a paid extra in the film. When I heard Tom was coming for the premiere, I tried to find a way to get into the after party but was unsuccessful. Standing in the crowd behind the barracade, when he drove up in the limo with the window rolled down & waving at us, I knew what to do. I started the crowd chanting, "We want Tom...!" over & over. Eventually, he came up to the crowd & shook hands. When he got to me, he just took my hand in his, looked into my eyes and smiled & laughed. So did I! It seemed to last a LONG time...& afterward I ran ahead & got a series of photos which I showed to all my friends. FUN !
