got to hold his hand for a moment
When I was only 8 my cousin took me to an Elvis event in the City Hall in the town we lived in. This was before he was famous. I was waiting by the door, what you would call the stage door. It opened and 3 men came out, one of them accidently knocked me down. One took my hand and pulled me up, asked if I was OK. I said I was. He asked what my name was and what school I went to, then left. I thought I was in trouble. I had no idea who he was at the time.
The next day at school, everyone in the school was given Ice Cream Sandwichs. They announced that it was compliments of "ME" WOW. I had no idea why, but took my thank yous in stride.
Later my teacher told me that someone acting on Elvis' behalf had ordered ice cream for the school in my name. That was when I found out who "he" was. I still don't think my cousin believes me about this.
