Clive Owen

A few years back, before Clive Owen earned a Golden Globe, he appeared in a film comedy with Helen Mirren called Greenfingers. It premiered here in Toronto at the Toronto International Film Festival. The day after I saw the film at the festival, I was standing in line with my mother, waiting to see another film -- when I spotted the gorgeous, blue-eyed Clive Owen. I called out to him and told him how much I enjoyed the film. Then he approached - standing scarcely six inches from my face - and chatted with me for a moment. My mother and I nearly keeled over. He was a perfect gentleman. And a lovely sight, indeed. Now he is on the A list, and I have bragging rights: "I knew him when..."
