Playing Poker
We were on a plane, my Dad and I, coming over from England just after 9/11. My Dad was bored and was trying to teach me to play poker. In the aisle next to us was Mr. Jagger. After he had watched what was admittedly numerous hopeless attempts by my Dad to get me to understand the rudiments of the game, with lips twitching trying not to laugh, he suggested a friendly game between the two of them. I watched wide eyed as first my father and then Mr. Jagger won a hand. Well, after a VERY long flight and to my Dad's everlasting glee) he walked away with a check for $520.00 hand written by the big man himself. I don't think my Dad ever did cash the check since he was just happy at having been able to beat him.
