Alice Cooper
My brush is really funny. I was only around 11 years old in the 6TH grade; it was my first year of middle school. Music is a big deal here in New Orleans, and all the older kids loved Alice Cooper. "Yeah I am old." I wanted to fit in so much with the older kids, since being a 6TH grader was about as popular as a zit on picture day.
I listened to the music with the older kids and I kind of liked it too; it was pretty cool. I had never seen Alice Cooper, though, and all the other kids of course had, at least they said they had. They were talking about how cool looking Alice was. I only heard what he looked like from them. A few girls even said, he was so fine. So, I agreed, right away of course. Yeah, he's Super fine!
It seemed like a couple days after that, I heard on the radio that Alice Copper was coming to ride in one of our Mardi Gras parades so I had to go. "In New Orleans there are smaller parades for two weeks before Mardi Gras day gets here." I really wanted to go see this fine man for myself. All the kids at school were going on yeah, I'm going for sure. I begged my mother to bring me. Please mom, please. It was a school night or else I wouldn't of had to beg to go.
Before the parade got to us I told my mom how fine Alice Cooper was and that I really loved his music. I kept going on with stories like I knew what I was talking about. When really I didn't know crap. I was only repeating what the other kids had said.
Well finally I seen the float coming with the words Alice Cooper on it I was jumping for joy and going nuts. As he got closer and closer we couldn't even hear each other anymore because the music was blaring. His float looked like what you would see in hell, and then all of a sudden he was right there in front of me. I was close enough to touch the float, so he was about five feet away. He had long jet black hair, powdery white skin, eye liner running all down his face and he looked about 60! "I was 11 remember, so I didn't really know how old he was."
I thought I would die. Oh man, did I feel sick. I know my face must of been like planted with a smile and then, like a slow movie, my smile slowly melted down my face. Oh, my God! What the hell was that? That was my mother's response. I was like, he didn't look like that on TV mom, really. Oh gross, I was thinking inside. She said, we need to have a talk. Oh crap, I thought.
I was so bummed after he passed the rest of the parade was a big blur, and my mom just wouldn't give it a rest all the way home. Ha, ha.
