Getting a jump start from Burt and the Moon Pie man.
Three of my friends and I were four-wheeling in a old jeep near a resort in the Blue Ridge. That is near Asheville, N.C. We had pulled in to a ford to let the river wash the mud from the undercarriage. When pulling out of the river, I ran over a large rock. That unsettled the jeep, causing its battery to fall into the fan. We ended up in large mud hole near the dirt road on the resort. Luck was with us, though, as a large black limo with a Moon Pie tag on the front happened to pull up on the road. The chauffeur got out and asked if we needed help. Standing in mud almost to my knees, I said, "Got any jumper cables?"
Two men got out the back of the limo, which at the time I didn't recognize. The chauffeur connected the cables on his end and I on mine. The jeep started, I pull into the road, got out and thanked the two men from the back of the limo. We talked a little and then the two got back into the limo. I then went to thank the chauffeur for his help.
He asked if I knew who I had gotten a jump from. When I said I didn't, he told me it was Burt and the owner of the Moon Pie company. Till that point, I never realized what a good disguise a ball cap makes.
