Before Garth became a household name -- a country music super star -- he went to college in the late 80's & early 90's. I did too, and he used to have a lot longer hair and beard. He used to be on a bar stool with his guitar (no band) and play requests, everything from A-Z, unbelievable. But I never really had a conversation with him even then. Then he and his band played in Tumbleweeds' talent contest... showed up late but totally blowed the competition away, winning it hands down. The next time I heard his name, he was on every radio station music shows and talk shows. He was the bomb back at Willie's Saloon and still is "THE BOMB."
