Spent 20 minutes with Bea Arthur in her dressing room!
When Bea Arthur came to my city with her one woman show, "Just Between Friends," my best friend and I had the good fortune to meet Bea afterwards. Not only did we get to meet her -- we were taken back to meet her in her dressing room, where she was allowing fans to visit for a photo and an autograph. I had a copy of my "Threepenny Opera" CD with me, and Bea was ecstatic that a fan knew her for more than her (albeit legendary) TV performances on "Maude" and "Golden Girls." I ended up chatting with Bea for 20 minutes about her theater career and her friendship with Angela Lansbury and Lotte Lenya, among others. A once in a lifetime memory!
