Down the hall
I was attending a breakfast at one of the hotels in my home town, and in the next room we understood that Denzel Washington was addressing the Boys and Girls Club charity benefit. As soon as the name "Denzel Washington" got around the breakfast tables, most of the women were out of the room racing down the hallways and jamming into this smaller room to hear his speech.
It was also the last time that I saw actor Ossie Davis alive. He was a great man and a great example to our young men.
Though some of us were not able to see Denzel Washington face to face, his voice and his walk went a long way.
After about an hour, the women returned to the breakfast and those whose husbands were in attendance, had some explaining to do for the "Unaccounted Hour."
Denzel Washington is someone who would either clear one room, or over-pack a room, as in this case.
It was a great honor for me since I am a fan of Denzel Washington's and applauded his role in the "American Gangster."
