In the '60s, a premiere showing of Gidget Goes to Rome was at a theater in San Francisco in which Danielle De Metz was appearing. I walked by and the crowd turned and ran after me. I was later brought back to the theater and Danielle asked who I was that would cause such a crowd sensation -- so I told her my nickname was "Beatle" since I looked a lot like Paul McCartney and the girls liked to treat me like the real thing since they couldn't get the real thing. I had been out of town for months (Navy) and had just returned. Thus the excitement.
