Kid Rock's song dedication
My now wife and then girlfriend broke up with me about three years ago. Devastated, I decided to spend a week traveling with my dad, who works for a transportation company specializing in celebrity events. We were making a delivery to Vegas, and one of my dad's friends introduced my dad and me to Kid Rock. Although I'm a huge fan and was thrilled to meet him, all I could manage when he said hello was "Hi, my girlfriend just broke up with me!" We talked for a few minutes, and I told him about my girlfriend and how I'd messed things up between her and I. That night at his performance, he dedicated his song "Only God Knows Why" to his "new little friend" (I'm 6'4"). My girlfriend and I got back together about a week later, got married not long after that, and now we have two beautiful children. I wish I could meet him again and thank him for the dedication. It's really great when you meet a celebrity that takes an interest in you as a person. I'm sure they're not all like that.
