I met Keanu Reeves on a Greyhound bus!
When I was like 17 or 18 I took a Greyhound bus out to visit friends in Vail, Colorado. The trip was pretty cool except for the fact that we had to stop in every major city on the way there and the way back, which wouldn't have been that bad if it hadn't of taken so long. It took 3 days to get there and 3 days to get home to Traverse City in Northern Michigan where I live. Anyway, after my stay in Vail, which was awesome by the way, we left Denver and I settled in listening to some music and looking through some magazines that I had brought for the long trip. At some point I looked across the isle at the guy sitting in the seat next to me and I thought "that guy looks really familiar, how do I know him?" It was weird cuz I thought maybe he was from Traverse or maybe I saw him in Vail or something like that. I guess I just wasn't thinking about movies that I had seen. When we got to Omaha, Nebraska and we were getting off the bus a girl behind me asked, "Is that Keanu Reeves?" Just then I realized that it was Keanu and I said, "That's who that is!" We got off the bus and a few of us went over to him and got his autograph. We had like an hour or two layover and Keanu invited some of us to go over to a bar to play some pool, but I wasn't able to go because I was only like 17. When we boarded our bus everyone knew who Keanu was by that point and a bunch of us were chatting with him. Someone asked him why he was riding the bus and he told us that he didn't like planes and that he was on his way to Minnesota to film the movie Feeling Minnesota. Our next stop was Des Moines, Iowa where Keanu got off. The whole trip was a pretty memorable experience! I'm 32 now so it must have been '94 or '95. Ever since meeting him, Keanu Reeves has been one of my favorite actors. He was just a really cool guy with no arrogance at all. It was pretty damn cool...
