Mr. Miyagi called my house!
When I was in high school, I was living in Honolulu and my mother was working as a producer for a local ad agency. One of their clients, a major Hawaiian bank, hired Pat Morita as a celebrity spokesman. One day, while I was home alone, the phone rang. I answered. "Hello?" "Hi, Thomas, this is Pat Morita." Oh my gosh! Pat Morita was calling my house! I was talking to him on the phone! He had called to ask my mom a question about an upcoming shoot. I told him that she wasn't home, but instead of ending the call, he continued, "so how are you?" Oh my gosh! Pat Morita was asking me how I was! He and I talked for a few minutes. He was a really nice guy, and not long after that, I went with my mom to his wedding. But that's a different story...
