Ray Romano

Everybody loves Raymond in the pizza shop.
In November 2006, a friend and I were seeing "The Wedding Singer" on Broadway. We were hungry before the show, so we decided to get some pizza at a little hole-in-the-wall no-name place near the theater.
The place was very narrow in the front, with the counter on the side where you can order your slices to go. There was just enough room to stand up against the counter and still have space for people to pass by. Then it opened up into a restaurant in the back, with actual tables to sit down and order.
My friend and I were waiting on line to order our slices when I heard a man's voice behind me say, "Excuse me." Without bothering to look, I just said, "Oh sure, no problem," and squeezed closer to the counter. A few seconds later, my friend tapped me on the shoulder.
"Do you know who that was?" she demanded. I shrugged. "No."
"That was Ray Romano!" she said. I didn't believe her and neither did the other friend we were with. After we got our pizza, we went back outside to eat it, discussing her sighting. Our other friend continued to disagree, so we decided to go check it out.
Trying to be stealthy, we went back in and walked up to the area where the ordering part opened up into the restaurant. Sitting right in the middle in plain view was Ray Romano with his wife and kids!
We didn't go up to him because we didn't want to bother him. He probably goes to little unknown places so people don't bother him. Plus we were shy.
It wasn't really that big a deal but it made our night out in Manhattan that much more exciting!
