What a nice guy!
I met Mr. Tippin back in 1996 at Jamboree In The Hills in Wheeling, WV. My friend and I had gone because I won tickets along with hotel stay. As it turned out, were were staying in the same hotel as the performers.
We had gone out shopping and when we got back, we caught the elevator to our floor, and when we got on, Mr. Tippin and his manager were on it.
We chatted for a bit and he told us to meet him in the lobby at a certain time so we could get photos. Sure enough, he met us in the lobby and we got our pictures.
He's a very nice guy, very down to earth and we each got a big hug from him.
Later that night after the concerts, my friend and I went to the bar for a drink and lo and behold, Mr. Tippin's fiddle player and some other band members were there. They bought us a drink, danced with us and sat and chatted for a few hours.
We had a really good time, and these guys made our trip a lot of fun.
