Radisson Diamond - Part 8

Written by: Dominick A. Miserandino
Photography by: Margherita Miserandino

Parting is such sweet sorrow, especially leaving a cruise ship like this.

Overall, the Radisson Diamond is a great mix between elegance, luxury and, well, normality. Sometimes luxury is so well, luxurious, you feel insecure. You wonder which pinky to use or on other occasions, you might starve attempting to figure out which fork is the proper one to use. That’s not the case here. You get the soft-shelled crabs, but they don’t look at you funny for ordering three portions. Okay, your wife will, but that’s not the point.

In addition, the double-hulled ship makes a world of difference. First, in a port like Athens it makes a difference because you can identify your ship from about 10 miles away.

"Oh, the ship with two bottoms, yes."

It certainly improves your relationships with taxi drivers.

But the other reason it makes a difference is that it produces a very smooth ride... now that sounds like a car commercial.

Would we go back again, of course. Give me my normal gourmet food and a smooth ride anytime.
