St. Tropez

St. Tropez is really two parts: the city and the beach.
As the famous poet laureate P. Diddy put it:
"Have you ever been to St. Tropez and seen a brother play the mandolay?"
Words were never spoken so true or so eloquently.
St. Tropez is really two parts: the city and the beach. The city of St. Tropez is pretty, but should be done as a second choice. The prices are high, the shopping is expensive, and the prices are high. I said it twice because it really deserves to be mentioned twice.
We decided to go to the beach, and since a taxi was described as the only option, that's what we took. $30 for a 10-minute ride. I know doctors who charge less. Even in a New York City taxi, the only time you lose $30 is when they mug you!
Anyway, we went to the beaches and started at Club 51, the one that was recommended to us. Unfortunately, the boat was only there for the morning, so we were only able to go to the beach in the morning. Good for the tanning; bad for beach residents and parties.
St. Tropez is a full nude beach, which I don't have the confidence to participate in, but am fully willing to support those who do have the confidence. (Wink, Wink!) What was unfortunate was that at that time of day, the only participants were those who really shouldn't have been. Michelangelo's David would have looked quite differently if he were based on one of the participants here.
A lot of the locals recommended we come back at night, which we didn't have the time to do, but you could see that it was certainly a partying town.
After spending the morning tanning and swimming at one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen, we saw a bus going back to town, and thereby to the boat. For only $1.50 a person, we rode back to town and grabbed the boat in the nick of time.
