'Seinfeld' actor and comedian John Pinette dies at 50

John Pinette, who became known for getting mugged in the Seinfeld series finale, was found dead in a Pittsburgh hotel room. He was 50 years old when he died. Pinette was set to go on tour from April to June and travel across the U.S. and Canada.

Pinette often joked about being overweight and had heart and liver disease, according to NJ.com.

He had gone to rehab for abusing prescription pills in August 2013, but police said they did not suspect foul play on account of his death. His death has been considered to be of natural causes, according to Hollywood Reporter. However, his manager, Larry Schapiro said that Pinette's death was caused by a pulmonary embolism.

In addition to his Seinfeld role, Pinette had acted in films. These films include Junior, The Punisher and The Last Godfather.

His other television works include Vinnie and Bobby, Parker Lewis Can't Lose and High Tide.
