2013 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas is ready to take off: Justin Bieber, Prince and more

Stars, Stars, and more Stars, the Billboard music awards is ready, set, and will go on tonight at 8p.m. in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Not only will the show be airing live at the MGM Grand, but there will be a mainly star studded audience in sin city tonight as well according to Washington Post.

Many shall grace the stage with their artistry tonight including: Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, Selena Gomez, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Apparently acts such as Fun., Taylor Swift, and Maroon 5 are up for 11 awards each. Rihanna, One Direction, and Carly Rae Jepsen, are right behind for 10 to possibly eight awards each tonight. Carly Rae Jepsen who is up for top female artist of the year and top new artist of the year is quite excited for this year’s event:

“The Billboard Awards is kind of a nostalgic one for me because it was the first awards show I attended outside of Canada,” the 27-year-old recalled in an interview. “I had never really done anything quite so big. And to be going back a year later, and to be nominated, and then to also being doing all the fun stuff like pick a dress, and see the party, and watch the show — I feel just lucky to be involved.”

Justin Bieber, among others, are nominated for the biggest award of the night: Top Artist of the Year Award. The other nominees are: Maroon 5, One Direction, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna. Madonna and Prince are receiving two of the biggest awards of the night including Prince’s Icon Award and then Madonna’s Top Touring Artist Award.

According to Billboard, Tracy Morgan is just as excited to host the show as the other artists are at performing. He decided to give just a little message before the show.

Other excited performing acts include : Kacey Musgraves, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, The Band Perry, Christina Aguilera, David Guetta and Ed Sheeran.
