'Big Brother' Season 15, Episode 1

As always, Big Brother started off with a bang this summer. The first live episode was filled with attractive house guests and twists and turns. During the “Biggest Big Brother ever,” according to The Talk,s Julie Chen, for three months, the sixteen contestants will be cut off from the outside world and compete for a half of million dollars ($500,000). The episode started off with the introduction contestants and a view of how they live their daily lives. After the contestants were greeted by Julie Chen, the first four contestants were asked to enter the lavish house: Candice, GM, Judd, and Andy. The second group to enter the house consisted of Elissa, Jeremy, Kaitlin, and McCrae. The third group to enter the house consisted of Howard, Helen, Jessie, and Nick. The fourth and final group to enter the house consisted of Aaryn, Amanda, David, and Spencer. A few things about some of the contestants stood out: Elissa is the sister of former Big Brother winner Rachel Reilly, Andy is a “BB super fan,” McCrae is socially awkward, Gina Marie is a firecracker and some of the contestants seemed to be annoyed by her, and Howard is a religious man who puts God first in everything he does.

Once the contestants entered the house and gotten to know each other, alliances began to form and strategies came into play. Elissa announced that she wants to form an alliance that consisted of all females. Spencer announced that he would bring his “excellent social game” this summer. Jeremy begins conjuring up two alliances-one with Howard and Spencer and another one with Jessie and David. Once Judd found out that Elissa was Rachel’s sister, he decided to keep it a secret (for now).

The battle for $500,000 officially begun once the house guests found out the first big twist of the summer: for the first time on Big Brother, instead of two nominees, there will be three nominees for eviction each week. The first two nominees will be chosen by the Head of Household (HOH). The third nominee will be chosen by the Big Brother MVP (BB MVP), which is voted by the viewers at a href=http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/mvp-vote-splash/.

The first competition of the summer was the first ever HOH Competition of the summer which was called “Popsicle Factory.” The object of the game was to climb onto the popsicle, which will be lifted from the ground, and the last guest to remain on the popsicle will be crowned HOH. each house guest fell, one by one, until McCrae was the last man hanging and was crowned HOH. During the competition, Julie made a proposal with the remaining house guests: the first two house guests to drop will choose between two lunch pails, one with a “Never Not” pass, and with a loaf of bread. While David won the loaf of bread, Jeremy won the “Never Not” pass, which mean that he would not be a “Half Not” for the week. This means no uncomfortable beds and no slop for the week.

The first “Have Not” Competition and McCrae’s eviction nomination ceremony will be Sunday, June 30 at 8:00 p.m. EST. The first veto competition and BB MVP announcement will be Tuesday, July 2 at 9:00 p.m. EST. Wednesday, July 3 will be the live eviction. BB fans can view BB After Dark at midnight on TBGN.

As always, with Big Brother, “Expect the unexpected,” and as Rachel says, “Floaters, you better grab your life vest.”
