Celebrity Birthdays 10/29: Gabrielle Union, Tracee Ellis Ross and Dan Castellaneta

Gabrielle Union celebrates her 41st birthday. This Nebraska native was a basketball star at her high school she also played soccer and ran track. Union graduated from UCLA with honors in Sociology, and worked as a model to pay off student loans. Gabi got her acting chops in the movie “Bring It On” and in her role in the movie “Bad Boys II,” alongside Martin Lawrence and Will Smith.

Tracee Ellis Ross also turns 41 today. This Cali native has a legendary mother, Mo-Town singer Diana Ross. Ross is most known for her role on the show “Girlfriends,” written by Kelsey Grammar. She’s the mild mannered lawyer Joan Clayton, whose girlfriends help keep her, grounded or get her in trouble. Her diverse background has played a big role in her acting career. She played a Jewish/African American woman in the independent feature film “Far Harbor.”

The man behind Homer Simpson’s voice celebrates a birthday today. Dan Castellaneta is now 56 and not only does he provide the voice for Homer but does voices for many of the characters that we’ve laughed at over the years. As a college student Castellaneta studied art education and hoped to become an art teacher. Back in 1995 Castellaneta, performed in a one-man show called Where Did Vincent van Gogh?
