“Dear John” is a song off of Swift’s CD, Speak Now. While Swift pretends that it isn’t about her former flame, John Mayer, that’s a lie but I’ll forgive her because “Dear John” is so beautifully written. The line: “Don’t you think I was too young/to be messed with/The Girl in the dress/Cried the whole way home/I should’ve known” is just one of the best. “Dear John” can be compared to the Red track, “I Knew You Were Trouble,” but better and sadder.
