Eminem and Rihanna are enjoying their highest week of sales from their collaboration, "The Monster." The duo had the highest week of sales since the album, MMLP2, with 433,000 downloads, a 123% increase.
Billboard reported that in total the single has sold over 2.2 million downloads.
The single showed increase sales in part because of holiday sales and gift card purchases, this is the first week since the single was released that it has sold over 300,000.
MMLP2 is still number two on the charts selling 122,000 albums this past week.
The single was recorded in Detroit, Michigan, the hometown of the rap superstar, as Effigy Studios in Ferndale M Live reported. The song has a few other ties to Michigan, Mike Strange, a Michigan native, is credited as one of the sound engineers who recorded the song.
Eminem and Rihanna recently released the music video for "The Monster." The video which features an intense storyline and shocking visuals has over 44 million views and has only been online for three weeks.
