Alex Rodriguez drops lawsuits against Selig, MLB and MLBPA

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez suddenly dropped his lawsuits today against Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association and commissioner Bud Selig.

A-Rod, and his many lawful team members filed the chargers in response to his 162 game record suspension he received following the 2013 season. He was seeking an injunction that could possibly allow him to play ball in 2014 for at the very least some of the season.

So now, after seven months of bitter words going back and forth between MLB and the A-Rod camp (including “witch hunt”), this latest drama dealing with the 38 year old slugger seems to have abruptly come to an end, according to CBS Sports.

Alex Rodriguez seems to have finally accepted his fate.

"We have been informed that Alex Rodriguez has reached the prudent decision to end all of the litigation related to the Biogenesis matter," MLB said in a statement. "We believe that Mr. Rodriguez's actions show his desire to return the focus to the play of our great game on the field and to all of the positive attributes and actions of his fellow Major League Players. We share that desire,” according to New York Daily News.

Although Rodriguez can still decide to re-file the suit, it does appear he will finally move on. He will eye a return to the Yankees in 2015 as he will still have three years remaining on his mega-deal.

It’s simply amazing to realize that at one point Alex Rodriguez was going to be the “Clean Home Run Champ” for all of baseball to celebrate.
