Lorde announces Australian tour

"Royals" singer Lorde has announced that she will be touring in Australia, following her own North American tour announcement. The Australian tour will be kicking off next month.

Lorde will be making six stops throughout the country of Australia starting on April 24 in Melbourne and concluding the tour in Brisbane on May 6th, Billboard reported. These tour dates will be all-ages shows.

Lorde has already made music history with her debut album and single "Royals." She became the first New Zealand solo artist to have a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Australians have certainly been supporting Lorde from the start. Her EP "Royals/The Love Club" was certified as six-times platinum. "Royals" was also the most streamed track in 2013 in the land down under.

Lorde played shows back in October in Australia but tickets sold out quickly, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

In an interview with Matt and Alex morning radio hosts on Triple J Breakfast, Lorde explained her excitement to be able to bring her tour to Australia. "'I've only played the smaller clubs in Australia and the festival [circuit]. I'm ready to play my own shows in large venues," said the "Team" singer.
