Mary Kay Cosmetics: Hello Sunshine Line

As a mommy on the go I feel like I don't have any time to make myself shine (hair up in my traditional "bun" and usually very little makeup). I was thrilled to try out Mary Kay's new Hello Sunshine Collection.

The new line stands to "release your inner beauty" and and to bring back the classic 1960s carefree summer. I truly feel carefree (although staring at the doom of 2 week old snow outside); these products make me smile with the feeling that summer is around the corner. The colors range from bold to soft; you can recreate eyes from the classic years past or plunge into the new.

I sampled a fantastic lip gel in cherry twist. It has a fantastic glass like finish which I loved (also it smelled super yummy) and is really lightweight and natural feeling. The color was a terrific bright and vibrant shade of red that I am really enjoying. The Lip Gel comes in an 11 oz package and retails for $16.00.

I also sampled two of the new nail lacquers in Lemon Parfait and Carefree Coral. These have a great high gloss finish (you really don't even need a top coat if you are on the go). It is long lasting (over a week now no chipping) easy to remove and my favorite part: it didn't streak when applying. Both colors come in a .25 fl oz bottle and retail for $9.50.

Finally, I was treated to two Springy Eye Duos: one was "stonewashed" (a pretty light blue/taupe combo) and "summer sunset" (a light gold / bronzy combo: perfect for a summer night out with beach tanned skin). Both are easy to apply, glide on smooth and lasted my entire day. They come in .03 oz packaging and retail for $16.00 each.
