Greatest Jack Nicholson films of all time

Jack Nicholson is an American actor, director, producer, and writer. Nicholson has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards, making him the most nominated male actor in the history of the Awards. Nicholson has a penchant for neurotic characters, and is able to portray them with finesse only he can display. In 1994 Nicholson became one of the youngest actors to be awarded the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award. He (along with Michael Caine) is one of the only two actors to be nominated for an Academy Award for acting every decade from 1960-2000. In 2001 he received the Kennedy Center Honor, an award given to those in the performing arts as recognition for their lifetime contributions to American culture.

Nicholson is famous as being a bit eccentric. This has helped him in his numerous roles, especially his multitude of villain roles. He is a well-known L.A. Lakers fan, rarely missing a game and has repeatedly been threatened to be kicked out of the stadium for yelling at referees during games. He also allegedly had a sort of prank war with author-journalist Hunter S. Thompson while Thompson was alive. Their bizarre game once had Thompson leaving an elk heart on Nicholson’s doorstep, leading the police to believe there was a plot against Nicholson’s life.
