Just one day after announcing his new record deal, Prince has dropped a surprise single called "The Breakdown."
As TheCelebrityCafe.com reported , music star Prince just signed a new deal with Warner Bros. Records. The deal gives him control over his past albums with Warner Bros., including his legendary record Purple Rain which will be remastered and re-released just in time for its 30th anniversary. Prince famously broke with the record label in 1996 by scrawling "slave" on his face in protest.
Along with his plans to remaster his old tunes, Prince also promised a new album and hasn't wasted any time in giving his fans new music. His new song is called "The Breakdown," and was released just before midnight on Friday.
In a March interview with Rolling Stone , Prince talked about "The Breakdown", calling it his favorite song to play. "There's a song we've just written called, 'The Breakdown,'" he said. "One of the things that we try to do, though, is wait until we have other songs that go together with our favorites. That's why it takes a long time to come out with albums these days."
The power ballad promises a stellar return of Prince.
