Howard University gives P. Diddy honorary degree

Sean Combs, who is also known as P.Diddy, has received an honor degree in humanities from Howard University.

Billboard reported that upon receiving his honorary degree Combs also delivered the commencement speech to those in attendance of the graduation ceremony.

Interim President Wayne A.I. Frederick introduced the famous rapper saying that as a past student he understands the Howard spirit. "He sat in classrooms where our students sit, walked 'The Yard,' and like many students, his entrepreneurial spirit was sparked at Howard. We know he will inspire our class to work hard and to always strive for excellence," said Frederick.

“Ain’t no homecoming like a Howard homecoming,” said Combs as he started off his speech, which was also live-streamed on the main website for Howard University, Complex reported.

Diddy was among five people that received honorary degrees as trailblazers in their fields. Also honored at the ceremony was, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer, transplant surgeon Clive Callender, jazz legend Benny Golson and PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi.
