Though channels like MTV, VH1, and BET have countdown shows, an artist Billboard rank is more important. This is a reflection of their national success. It is not showcasing how the song or video is doing on a particular network.

The smooth R&B artist, Robin Thicke, made it on this list for many reasons. His single “Blurred Lines” featuring Pharrell and T.I. was destined to succeed. All three artists are great in their own right. Plus, the risqué video helped. Plus, his sensual voice will make anything sound good.

Seems like the 10s is all about the DJs. This year Avicci has secured multiple nominations. It takes true skill to remix music in a way that keeps the party going. Don’t believe me? Have you heard a terrible mix before? If so, that person did not know what they were doing.

Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience had hit after hit. “Suit & Tie” celebrated the gentleman. Plus, Jay-Z verse gave it a little something extra. Along with this smooth jazz beat, he also touched on classic JT heart wrenching songs that played on radios and countdowns for weeks. This gentleman will definitely bring some awards home.

The artist that almost did not become a pop star is Katy Perry. Try after try after try, left her feeling discouraged. Fortunately for us, Katy Perry made it. She is one of those artists that constantly have successful singles on the charts. Top hits guarantee an excellent album.

Don’t know who Imagine Dragons is? If you have seen Iron Man 3 or The Hunger Games Catching Fire, you have heard them before. The Alternative Rock band was founded in 2008. They are from Las Vegas, and 2013 was their year. Let’s be honest, films are nothing without music. Music helps move the story along. To be able to land a track on a summer and winter blockbuster is impressive.
