Scooter Gennett helps Brewers slam past Stephen Strasburg, Nationals

Second baseman Scooter Gennett hit a grand slam off of Stephen Strasburg (6-6) Wednesday to lift the Brewers (48-32) to a 9-2 victory over the Washington Nationals (41-36).
Milwaukee's hitters put up seven runs on Nationals pitcher Strasburg in 4.2 innings. Gennett, playing in his first full year at the Major Leagues, went 2-for-5 with five RBIs. Fellow first year teammate Khris Davis went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, according to Fox Sports

Strasburg allowed seven runs on eight hits in his 4.2 innings of work. Strasburg walked three and struck out just two in his sixth loss of the year.

Marco Estrada (7-4) pitched 6.1 innings allowing two runs on two hits. The Brewers avoided being swept for the first time this season according to

Estrada told reporters. “The way the game was going, I'm sure everyone was really excited about it, it made me feel really good.”

The victory came a day after a devastating 16-inning loss to the Nationals.
