Kelsey Grammer gets emotional during sister's killer's parole hearing, doesn't want him released

Kelsey Grammer gave emotional testimony at a parole hearing on Tuesday for Freddie Glenn, the man who was convicted of killing his sister in 1975. While the Frasier actor could forgive Glenn, he did not endorse Glenn’s release.

Glenn is currently serving a life sentence at Buena Vista Correctional Facility for his actions in July 1975, according to The Denver Post. He and two others abducted Karen Elisa Grammer from a restaurant where she worked and killed her. Glenn was also convicted of killing two others.

Grammer and Glenn, who sat directly in front of Grammer, spoke to the board via video conference. Glenn was in tears as he apologized directly to the actor.

“I want to believe you have actually changed your life," Grammer told Glenn. "Things you say, I accept a lot of it.”

According to ABC News, Glenn explained that he had hung out with the wrong group of people when he was younger. “I thought I would die. I thought I would be killed,” Glenn said. “I think I deserve a second chance.”

While Grammer accepted the apology, he said that he still lives with the tragedy every day of his life. “However, I cannot give your release my endorsement. To give that a blessing would be a betrayal of my sister's life,” he said.

The parole board did not make an immediate decision.

Grammer was 20 at the time that his sister was killed. Just last week, he announced that he and his wife Kayte had their second child together, a son named Kelsey Gabriel Elias Grammer.
