Blake Lively is such a fan of Martha Stewart that she’s trying to be the next one, but Stewart isn’t exactly happy about having more competition in the lifestyle market. Lively responded, saying that she thinks she can juggle being an actress and entrepreneur.
Last month, the actress launched Preserve, where Lively is selling unique items and offering lifestyle tips. It sounds like a nice homage to Stewart, who reportedly helped save Lively and Ryan Reynold’s wedding from turning into a disaster.
However, Stewart isn’t impressed with Lively’s new venture, even if she hasn’t seen it yet. In an interview with The Huffington Post last week, Stewart advised Lively to stick with acting.
“I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress? I just did a movie yesterday, though -- I can't even tell you about it -- but I want to be Blake Lively,” she joked.
In her response to E! News, Lively said she thinks she won’t have any problems taking on two careers. She even admitted that one is probably going to make her more money than the other.
"I want to have my own path professionally and even as she said, I'm an actress,” Lively told the site. “I'm doing something totally different so now I sort of have two careers going on and it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out. But really what it is, is I have two passions. And I think ultimately, I will always be doing both, but one is going to be paying the bills better than the other.”
Lively also said that Stewart has been a big influence on Preserve, as is her mother. “She's how I came to know and love Martha,” Lively told E! about her mother. “I always say that Martha Stewart Living is the only magazine I ever had growing up. I never had Tiger Beat or any of that stuff.”
