With the MTV European Music Awards countdown drawing to a close, Nicki Minaj is getting nervous for her world-wide hosting debut.
The MTV EMA’s airs tonight on stations around the globe, according to MTV.com. Minaj is slated to host this years awards ceremony, which will air from Glasgow.
"I was having a lot of anxiety yesterday actually because I know there is a lot of pressure and it’s a big job and I always want to give my best and be amazing,” the Young Money rapper told Mirror earlier today.
However, after a much-needed rehearsal, the “Anaconda” singer is now feeling prepared and excited.
“It’s going to be a really, really fun show,” Minaj said.
The singer may be having a bout of stage fright, but she has no doubt that she will rock the hosting gig once she gets in her groove.
"You know damn well they are going to remember Nicki Minaj hosting the show,” she said.
Also sure to be remembered are the performers slated for the stage tonight, which includes Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and U2. The host is among the list of performers as well, likely taking the stage with Jessie J and E! Online reports.
This year will be the 20th anniversary of the MTV EMAs, and it is the first time the show has ever been hosted in Glasgow.
In a statement on their website, MTV said, “Glasgow’s known for its diverse local music scene…And the EMA celebrates international superstars, local favourites from all corners of the world, and the FANS around the globe who make it all possible!”
MTV will air the show this evening at 7/6 pm central time and again at 9:30 pm.
