A snowstorm is headed for the eastern part of the U.S. and could create a real problem for those trying to get somewhere on the busiest travel day of the year.

Bloomberg News reported that areas along the I-95 corridor from Virginia to New England will likely be impacted by the storm, which could dump as much as a foot of snow in some spots.

“The snowfall will significantly impact holiday travel, making driving dangerous at times,” the National Weather Service said.

Airlines are also monitoring the storm closely and some flights could be canceled or delayed.

The Associated Press noted that central and southeastern Pennsylvania could see up to 7 inches of snow, with anywhere from 3-5 inches in Philadelphia.

Boston could get anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of the white stuff and New York City is forecast to get a mix of rain and snow from Wednesday into Thursday morning.

The Department of Transportation asks that motorists take their time and drive carefully in the expected conditions.
