Just days after cancelling Franklin & Bash, TNT pulled the plug on Perception, the crime drama starring former Will & Grace actor Eric McCormack.
The actor actually broke the news himself on Twitter, writing to his fans, “A sad day: Daniel Pierce will lecture no more. Thank you #Perception fans, and our great crew, for 3 amazing seasons. Shoulda been more...”
Perception ran for three seasons and starred McCormack as the eccentric Dr. Daniel Peirce. The character was a paranoid schizophrenic who helped the FBI solve crimes. Rachael Leigh Cook, LeVar Burton, Kelly Rowan and Arjay Smith also starred in the series. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Perception was an ABC Studios production.
There are three remaining episodes, which will air in February.
Perception averaged 2.7 million viewers in season three, down from a 3 million-viewer average for season two.
Back on Tuesday, TNT cancelled Franklin & Bash after four seasons.
Both shows have been cancelled after former Fox chief Kevin Reilly officially stepped in as the head of TNT and TBS. TNT, also the home of The Last Ship, Major Crimes and Rizzoli & Isles, also cancelled its Dallas revival before Reilly was hired.
The network is also developing a pilot starring Sharon Stone called Agent X. Other upcoming projects include Public Morals from Ed Burns and Jennifer Beals’ Proof.
