Ed Sheeran instructed not to use his voice in between shows

Looks like Ed Sheeran won’t be “Thinking Out Loud” anytime soon due to his strict vocal doctor, who banned him from talking in between his performances.

Fireball Sheeran confirmed this rumor through a Tweet that said, “Been told by the vocal doc not to talk at all between shows and they’re giving me a white board to communicate with, could prove interesting.” MTV then drafted a humorous photo on their Instagram account dedicated to MTV News of the singer holding a white-board with the words “HEY TAYLOR” scribbled across the surface. This is obviously playing off the ever-popular possibility that Swift and Sheeran may one day become more than just friends. These two talented artists, although not collaborating musically or romantically, both won mtvU Woodie Awards, which aired Friday, March 20. Swift received Cover Woodie (Best Cover Song) for her cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide,” while Sheeran took home the Co-Sign Woodie (Best Collaboration Between Artists) for his “All About It” duo with Hoodie Allen, ET Online confirmed.

Although the 24-year-old isn’t necessarily allowed to use those infamous vocal cords outside of his shows, he’s definitely not holding back during them. Sheeran recently traveled to Sydney for a portion of his tour this month and belted out his lyrics alongside his fans, according to Daily Mail.

This talented ginger may not have a “say” for a while, but at least he can still rock it out on stage. If he’s as clever in using his whiteboard as he is with lyrics, we’ll all be in for a treat, despite his overused larynx.
