Apparently Bill Cosby’s denial of abusing the dozens of women who have come forward throughout these numerous months has forced three more women to come forward with accusations.
Gloria Allred has taken on these additional cases and will represent these three women, who say they’re coming forward now because their fed up with his failure to “acknowledge and take responsibility for his conduct towards women."
All three new cases allegedly took place in the ‘70s and ‘80s when the women; Janice Baker-Kinney, Marcella Tate and Autumn Burns, were in their 20s.
People reports Allred said during a press conference that Cosby’s decision to continue his comedy tour is shameful, as continuing sends a message “the allegations against him by more than 40 women mean nothing and should be disregarded."
His next show, which is on May 2 at the Cobb Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, will be attended by protesters. His spokesperson has not responded to the new allegations but has denied every one of them since they began.
Today, I am here with three more women who allege that they were victimized by Bill Cosby.Prior to today, none of these women have spoken in public about what they allege that Cosby did to them. They have chosen to speak out now, however, because Cosby has still refused to acknowledge and take responsibility for his misconduct towards women. In addition, he has chosen to continue with his “Far From Finished” concert tour, and will be performing next week on May 2nd at the Cobb Centre in Atlanta, Georgia as though the allegations against him by more that 40 (?) Women mean nothing and should be disregarded. Perhaps he mistakenly believes that no more women will come forward alleging that they are victims. If that is what he thinks, we are here today to tell him he is wrong. The women who are with me today are not the last ones who will come forward. I can assure him that there will be more, because women are no longer going to be intimidated by Cosby’s celebrity, money or power. Many people here asked me what I think that the public should do about Cosby’s upcoming concert in Atlanta. I hope that the public will not buy tickets to his performance and that there will be many empty seats by the end of the performance. It has also been reported that there will be protesters who have purchased tickets to his show and who plan to disrupt his performance. I believe these protestors have a right to express their anger at Mr. Cosby by speaking out during his show. While I do not support any act of violence, I do believe that if the protestors wish to express their opinion they have a right to do so, as long as they know that it is likely that they will be asked to leave after their disruption. Finally, it has also been reported that many people who did purchase tickets are now requesting refunds. It is also reported that the box office at the venue has stated that it will not provide refunds. My suggestion to those who have tickets but are denied refunds, is that they should attend the concert, but then stand up in the midst of it and walk out in protest. This action will send a message to Mr. Cosby that he is not “far from finished.” To the contrary, he is finished as a performer, because his mistreatment of women is not a laughing matter. I am very proud of all of the women who have come forward to voice what they say is their truth. Women matter. They have been denied their day in court, but they are now empowered.Mr. Cosby, they will be silent no more.
