Second royal baby is named Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced the name of their second child and first baby girl as Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

They have incorporated the names of the little princess’ great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

On Monday, Kensington Palace tweeted, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.”

“The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.”

The baby’s name was announced just as it was being rumored they haven’t picked out a name yet. The frontrunner was believed to be Alice.

Duchess Kate gave birth to the couple’s second child on Saturday morning, giving Prince George a baby sister.

Princess Charlotte, who her Uncle, Prince Harry, has referred to as "absolutely beautiful," is expected to meet the queen on Monday.
