One of the most talked about actors of this awards season has actually been a 9-year-old boy and now the young actor just landed his next role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jacob Tremblay (Room) will guest star on the Fox comedy The Last Man on Earth. He'll be playing a young version of Phil Miller, the character portrayed by Will Forte on the series. His role is only expected to last for one episode.
Tremblay's acting career began in 2013 when he played Patrick and Grace's son in The Smurfs 2. He gained recognition for his performance as Jack in Room, which follows a mother and son held captive for seven years. He received a Critics Choice Award for best young actor/actress, delivering a speech that warmed the hearts of everyone in attendance. Room is nominated for best picture at the Academy Awards and Tremblay's co-star Brie Larson is considered a lock for best actress.
In addition to The Last Man on Earth, Tremblay's upcoming projects include the horror film Before I Wake, where he plays a young boy with the power to make his dreams and nightmares become reality. He will also star in Colin Trevorrow's The Book of Henry, which follows a single mother raising two boys, one of whom is a genius.
